(February)
We had been assigned a group project. The project was about chase scenes. I was in a group with Ashley. In the first week of the assignment, I missed the whole week because of the flu. However, when I came back we had only 4 days on filming. One of the issues that we ran into was the weather so; we had to cut out the outside shots and the knife scene. Once the editing came, it was easy but then we had realized that the ending was to short so the ending was bad. We could not film the ending again because we did not notice it until the last day of the project. It turned out fine and I was happy but the ending was the part that I hated.
(The PSA)
We needed to make a P.S.A (public service announcement). We had a choice if we wanted to work as a group or go solo. My friends and I were thinking of working together. We came up with a plan. The plan was one did the story board and script, one films, one edits. Since I was in wrestling at the time I could help film so, I did the storyboard and the script. We saw it and did a vote to cut out a scene out of the video. The scene was about a metaphor. The metaphor was that someone’s life was as genital as a candle flame.
(DEL)
Del was a project about how to make a TV commercial. I had trouble thinking of an idea because I had some many ideas to choose from. Then I remembered that I have my pre-workout in my bag so I used it. I did not have any trouble shooting it but I did have trouble editing it. The problem was that one of my clip was to short so I needed to slow down the clip. I asked Mr. Holt for help and he showed me how to make a clip go faster or slower. Other than then that, I had no trouble.
(Parallel Action)
The parallel action project was fun to make. Because it showed me how to properly edit a video. I had no trouble thinking of an idea for the video and how should it play out. If I could change somethings, it would be the ending. I wished that I did something at the end so it could have been more entertaining to watch. The songs I would also change so that they fit the setting of the video. I wished I had more experience to make the video better but I am still happy with it.
(Fresh Air)
Fresh air was for a project about radio commercials. We were focusing on audio and how to use sale tactics. I had one idea that idea was fresh air. Fresh air was a product that made a stinky room smell like nothing. It was packed in a can like the shape of a tin 12 oz soda can. I had fun making the audio sound weird or funny. I wished we had more than 30 seconds for the commercial so I could make the audio sound better and add more effects to it. The only problem I had was the time. Other than that I thought it was decent.
(Object)
We were assigned a project that we had to make a animated interesting. The best idea that I had was about the beaver. Because I thought, the lighting was good. The thing I forgot was my phone's camera was dirty which ruined the image I was trying to catch. Other than that I thought I did a good job. In addition, I forgot to cut off all of the black at the end.
(The tricaster)
It was every boring at the beginning. It started getting fun when we played on it alone. Because I have to learn a lot about how to green screen things. I thought the best thing about leaning from the tricastor was how to use transition. We have to see how to preview things right before we used them to go live. Using the tricaster was probably one of the highlights of this class.
(Meth News)
I really had fun filming and editing it. We had to use the tricaster for the project. The best idea we had was to be a news anchor. We only had two days to think of an idea. The first day we shot all of the shots in the tricaster but, then we forgot to save the footage. So all of our footage was lost. The second day we re-shot all of the ones that were on the tricaster. The third day we were editing and the fourth day too. By the fifth day, it was finished. I thought it turned out good.
(P.S.A cyberbullying)
This was a very difficult project for my partner and I to make. It took us about a week to think of an idea. The reason why we chose this topic is that now these days we see many kids on the internet. Mostly every kid on the internet is at some point bullied. We did not have a hard time thinking where we would be filming. The hard thing about this was actually putting it together and not making it very cheesy. During editing, we saw many mistakes, so we reshot the scenes. The second time was a lot better than the first. We fixed all the mistakes that were in the first one. My partner and I were happy with it, so we published it on YouTube.
(Do you drink diet soda?)
This was a very simple video to make if I am being honest. In class for the first nine weeks, we had to have at least two videos. We had many options for our projects. For example, like P.S.A or a did you know? I needed to get this video out as soon as possible because, the nine weeks was about to end. I only had a week and a half to get this edited and recorded. Really, the only problem I had was getting the audio at negative six. My solution for the problem was laying right in front in me. I forgot that we had a section in premiere pro dedicated to audio. Once I had fixed my audio it was time to upload it on YouTube, but once I did, uploaded it, I notice that there was a little pause at the end. It was too late to change the mistake and it did not really bother me.
(Mrs. Price)
Now we had been given an assignment about profile stories. We need to find a story in which is a national story and we need to try to localize it. We have come up with many stories like for an example, littering and how it is a problem. In the end, we choose to do one about Mrs. Price and her transition from a band teacher to a career guide counselor. We needed to interview more than one person if we wanted a good story. So far, we have interviewed Mr. McCormick and Mrs. Price. We were going to interview another person but it did not work out at the end because of the time they could have done it. Now we are trying to get b-roll of student working and b-roll of her working.
